Gas Compliance Certificate

Under NSW Government law, if any of the following apply to your house, you need a Gas Compliance Certificate.

Are you:

  • getting gas connected or reconnected to your house, 
  • having a new gas appliance installed,
  • having a gas appliance replaced, 
  • having a new gas pipe installed.
Once a licensed plumber has completed work on your gas network, they are legally required to provide a Gas Compliance Certificate within 5 days to both you, the consumer and the relevant network provider. They are also required to install a plate in your appliance with details of the installation.

This is proof that work has been completed by a qualified technician and all safety standards are met.
